The Matech Racing Ford GTs  entered for the ADAC GT Masters 2008        

A few days after it had officially announced the arrival of Luca Pirri and Jürgen von Gartzen to the team for the FIA GT3 European Championship, Matech GT Racing has followed this up by revealing  it will enter two Ford GTs in the 2008 German ADAC GT Masters in the GT3 class.  

A highly successful national series during the ‘90s, the ADAC GT Cup then took a back seat only to see a new lease of life in 2007, thanks to SRO’. One of Stéphane Ratel’s objectives was to install the FIA GT3 class as the baseline for the various national championships. Besides England, France and Belgium, and before that Brazil and Germany, competitions retained all the ingredients to become a favoured  championship. Being able to count on such a renowned promoter as Jürgen Barth, the National GT3 championship was christened the ADAC GT Masters, enjoying a successful initial season which holds promise for a the future... 

 The 2008 programme contains 7 meetings over the circuits of Oschersleben, Nürburgring, Norisring, Assen (The Netherlands), the Eurospeedway Lausitz and the Sachsenring.  With the announcement of Jan Lammers  as one of the drivers adding to it’s reputation.  

Matech GT Racing entering its three Ford GTs  for the final round in 2007  provided Martin Bartek’s team with al flavour of what to expect this year.. "This competition is both spectacular and popular ", said the man in charge of Matech GT Racing.”It will allow us the opportunity to prove the competitiveness of our products in a highly prestigious environment, and represents a decidedly interesting work platform for us. In addition we also intend being present in the Veedol Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring as from 2009. Notwithstanding the fact that we are developing a more specific product for this competition, it nevertheless seemed normal and constructive for us to progress in Germany as from this 2008 season.." 

At present it is still too early to reveal who will drive the Matech Ford GTs, discussions are presently on-going. The team does however  expect to be ready for the kick-off of the 2008 ADAC GT Masters, at the Oschersleben circuit, on 11th May.
