FIAT Spanish Formula 3 Championship BRATT PLEASED WITH ALBACETE TEST DEBUT
Will Bratt concluded his latest FIAT Spanish
Formula 3 Championship pre-season test run, yesterday, Thursday, 27th
March, pleased with his continued progress, the Banbury racer having
spent two days racking up the miles at Albacete in the south of the
country.
During the opening day of the test on Wednesday,
26th March, Will produced the fourth fastest lap, just four 10ths of a
second shy of the outright pace. An assured run on his debut at the
Albacete track, the 19-year-old looked ahead to day two with great
confidence and aimed to repeat his timesheet-topping performance from
Jarama 10 days ago.
Unfortunately for Will, a problem with the fuel
pump on his FIAT-powered Dallara F3 car yesterday afternoon meant he
had to sit out the final few hours. Nonetheless, he managed to end the
day inside the top five, only three 10ths of a second away from the
top spot.
Commenting on his latest test outing, Will said:
"I'm pretty pleased with how the last couple of days have gone and
without the fuel pump problem I think we'd have definitely been a
couple of 10ths of a second faster and possibly the quickest car out
there.
"It's a shame we lost quite a bit of track time
during the last stint on the second day but we made good progress and
overall I think we can be happy with how things are going. I'm
certainly enjoying the experience and Emilio (de Villota) and his guys
have been doing a great job. I'm hoping we'll be back on track for
more testing in another 10 days or so."
Becoming more and more comfortable at the wheel of
his EmiliodeVillota.com Motorsport car as every test passes, the
British Racing Drivers' Club (BRDC) Rising Star can't wait for his
next outing which is expected to come at Jerez, situated just north of
the coastal resort of Cadiz, on Monday, 7th April.
The 2008 FIAT Spanish F3 Championship will begin at
Jarama, Madrid, on 3rd/4th May.
