BRITISH F3 AND GT CHAMPIONSHIP

DONINGTON PARK – 21/22 APRIL 2007

The F3/GT race weekend package is a mixture of glamour and speed, with some of the most aspirational cars going head-to-head in the GT category and the finest young racing drivers of our generation competing in British F3, on their way to F1 hopefully!

With a grid worth millions, the British GT Championship features exotic marques such as Aston Martin, Ferrari and Porsche, amongst others. Known for phenomenal speeds and action-packed racing, the championship will pound round the Leicestershire circuit in Donington Park’s first endurance race of the season.

Current leaders Oliver Bryant and Matt Harris, racing for the Tech 9 Team, will be looking for more points with their Porsche 997 GT3, battling with close contenders Hector Lester and Tim Mullen in Team Christians in Motorsport’s Ferrari 430 GT3.

Equally competitive, the British F3 Championship has produced more Grand Prix winners and World Champions than any other race series.

Max Chilton, the younger brother of BTCC VX Racing driver Tom Chilton, will make his British F3 debut at Donington Park, turning sixteen on Saturday 21 April (qualifying day) which could possibly make him the youngest ever driver to take part in the Championship.

Another young British racer to look out for is Sam Bird, the 2006 McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver Award Finalist who finished fourth in Formula Renault UK last year, scoring four wins.

Stephen Jelley, from Leicester, is currently top of the Brits after two podiums in the first two races. He is currently third behind Germany’s Maro Engel and current leader Marko Asmer, from Estonia.
