The Promotorsport driver kept his cool as he battled with champion Jérôme D’Ambrosio for most of the race, taking the chequered flag in front of cheering fans. Alan Racing’s Daniil Move led the race for the first ten laps after a great start, which saw the Russian overtaking Jenzer Motorsport’s Rahel Frey and Scuderia Fama’s Massimo Torre. The 21-year-old lost his lead to Puglisi following a safety car period and eventually finished fourth. The Belgian qualified third but a bad start saw him drop down to fifth. Fighting his way through the field, the 21-year-old showed his racing skills on the historic track with daring moves on his fellow FM racers. The most impressive involved passing Alan Racing’s Pablo Sanchez Lopez for the lead. The 17-year-old Mexican went on to finish second whilst Luca Persiani, driving for Scuderia Famà, claimed third place. Jérôme D’Ambrosio, Cram Competition Formula Master – Monza
Round 14 Brands Hatch Cram Competition's Jérôme D’Ambrosio claimed the inaugural Formula Master Driver title today in round 14 a Brands Hatch in a thrilling race which saw the Belgian post fastest lap after fastest lap as he climbed from eighth to a fifth finish. The race win belonged to team-mate Arturo Llobell however who led the 28-lap race from the start, having overtaken Ombra Racing’s Johnny Cecotto Jr as the lights went out. J.D. Motorsport’s Chris van der Drift claimed third place, having spent the 45-minute race alternating fighting Johnny Cecotto Jr for second and defending against fourth place man ADM Motorsport’s Norbert Siedler.

Master – Brands Hatch Round 13
Jérôme D’Ambrosio rose above the fierce battle for podium places in the first of the Formula Master races at Brands, leading the race from the start. The result gives the Cram Competition driver a practically unassailable points lead, although today’s fourth-place finisher Chris van der Drift still has a slim mathematical chance of taking the title. Van der Drift, who drives for J.D. Motorsport, is 30 points adrift in second place with two wins this season. D’Ambrosio has four wins so would need to score no points in the remaining three races to forfeit the inaugural title.

D’Ambrosio, Cram Competition “The trick is to get better all the time. There is always ways to improve, even if you are leading. When you are on the limit you can still find some more. That’s what we’re doing as a team so well at the moment.”
International Formula Master – Brands Hatch
D’Ambrosio - A champion in waiting? Immaculate driving saw Jérôme D’Ambrosio come within a hair’s breadth of the inaugural Formula Master title at Brands Hatch today after he commanded the 21-lap race, leading from start to finish. The Cram Competition driver is now 30 points ahead of nearest rival, Chris van der Drift, with 30 points still available. D’Ambrosio has four wins to van der Drift’s two, meaning the J.D. Motorsport driver needs to win all three remaining races, with D’Ambrosio scoring no points, to win the title. Van der Drift does not appear to have abandoned the chase, putting up a spirited challenge after qualifying 13th for today’s race. The Dutchman showed exceptional racing skill culminating in a particularly brave pass on Frankie Provenzano down the inside of Hawthorn Bend for fourth place before closing a 2.7s gap to the top three in just three laps. D’Ambrosio was nowhere to be seen, however, after blasting off the grid, building up a 3.4s lead by the end of his first lap. A brief safety car period, after guest driver Michael Meadows lost it coming out of Surtees, did not upset the 21-year-old’s rhythm as he picked up where he left off, building a comfortable lead by the chequered flag. D’Ambrosio was helped by the fierce battle behind him for second place after Norbert Siedler went backwards off the grid, letting Salvatore Gatto through. Gatto, for Promotorsport, defended brilliantly and in the closing laps was given a breather as van der Drift kept Siedler’s ADM Motorsport Formula S2000 busy. Jérôme D’Ambrosio, Cram Competition “This track is fantastic; the first time you go out of the pit, it’s like being in Disney World! The trick is not to hold back, keep focussed and have the same reference points. I pushed hard without taking any risks. “It could be fantastic to win the championship here tomorrow. You have to focus race by race and do your best, not think too much about points. There is always ways to improve, even if you are leading. When you are on the limit you can still find some more. That’s what we’re doing as a team so well at the moment.” Salvatore Gatto, Promotorsport Norbert Siedler, ADM Motorsport International Formula Master – Brands Hatch
Today’s action-packed round 12 of the International Formula Master (IFM) series has reignited the points battle as series leader, Jerome D’Ambrosio, scored just one point and J.D. Motorsports’s Chris Van der Drift took his second win of the year. After a frantic start, that saw Mattia Pavoni and Giuseppe Terranova come together on lap four and Oliver Campos Hull crashing out three laps later after skidding at the chicane and rolling the car, drivers had a breather with four relatively calm laps. In that time, however, the eight leading cars formed a tight pack with race leader Luca Persiani just 2.7 seconds ahead of eighth-place Kasper Andersen. The building tension culminated in a flurry of action at the mid-point of the 28-lap race as Van der Drift made his bid for second place triggering a series of passing manoeuvres amongst the leading group. Van der Drift kept his momentum up, passing Persiani for the lead on the following lap and then driving away from the battling Formula S2000s to pull out an incredible 14-second lead by the chequered flag. The fight for podium places continued in his wake as Persiani slipped down the order making way for Marcello Puglisi in second and Ragues snatched third from his team-mate Marco Bonanomi with two laps to go. The result means Van der Drift is now second in the points table with a gap of 25 points from D’Ambrosio, who finished the race in eighth. The result was an achievement for the Cram Competition driver who lost his rear wing when De Bruijn ran over the back of his car in the closing laps. Chris Van der Drift, J.D.
Motorsport “I was quicker than Persiani and he made a mistake coming into turn one, so I made a run on him coming down the straight and it worked out quite nicely. From then I just started to pull away.” Marcello Puglisi, Promotorsport “This was a very exciting race and I started well, overtaking two people. In the beginning I wasn’t that fast because that’s the way we set up the car, to last the distance. “There were some fights going on in front of me and they looked like they were faster than me. I made some mistakes but in the end I raced well and it’s the result that counts.” Pierre Ragues, Euronova Racing “I felt extra pressure because I was battling with my team-mate. It’s very hard because we are very good friends as well.” International Formula Master –
Oschersleben For the complete results please visit www.formulamaster.net D'Ambrosio victorious in race one at Oschersleben Cram Competition’s Jerome D’Ambrosio secured a fantastic win at today’s first International Formula Master (IFM) race at Oschersleben, Germany, finishing ahead of Chris Van der Drift and Norbert Siedler. Starting from third on the grid, the Belgium did not relax despite his great points advantage in the Series. After a tough nose-to-tail battle with pole-sitter Van der Drift, who was leading the race for the first half, D’Ambrosio charged past the Dutchman to cruise to his third victory of the season. Jermoe D’Ambrosio, Cram Competition “We had a very good car in the race, especially when it gets hot, it’s a difficult track for the tyres and towards mid-race I changed my driving style to help me with the tyres. We are flying!” International Formula Master – Oschersleben
