Delphi becomes team partner to Pescarolo Sport

Delphi will sponsor the Pescarolo Sport team in the 2007 Le Mans Series and Le Mans 24 Hours race  

Paris, France – Delphi Product & Service Solutions has signed a contract to become one of the official team partners of the Pescarolo Sport racing team for the 2007 season. During the year, the team will compete in six rounds of the European Le Mans Series which commences on 13^th April in Monza, Italy, as well as the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours in June.

Delphi branding will appear on both of the Pescarolo LMP1 cars, the team’s truck fleet, within the team’s garage as well as on driver’s uniforms and all team race wear.

Moretti, Managing Director, Delphi Product & Service Solutions. “Having won both the manufacturers’ and drivers’ titles in the Le Mans series for the last two years, we are confident that Pescarolo Sport will be very competitive again this year. We are looking forward to a long and successful association with the team”.

 Pescarolo Sport team leader Henri Pescarolo is one of the most successful drivers in prototype racing having secured four overall victories in the Le Mans 24 Hours, as well as taking 22 wins in endurance championship racing. Not only did the team secure the manufacturers’ and drivers’ titles in the 2006 Le Mans series, the team also took runners-up spot in the Le Mans 24 Hours. The team’s full driver line-up for the 2007 season  includes last season’s winning drivers Emmanuel Collard and Jean-Christophe Boullion (in Le Mans Series), together with Romain Dumas for Le Mans 24 Hours/ in the number 16 car. Then, Harold Primat, Christophe Tinseau (in Le Mans Series) and Benoît Tréluyer for the Le Mans 24 Hours/ in the number 17 car.

Delphi’s involvement in motorsport spans both sides of the Atlantic. As well as the partnership with Pescarolo Sport, the company is the title sponsor of the British Truck Racing Championship and has involvement in both NASCAR and Indy Racing in the United States. It also designs and manufactures a number of products for motorsport applications including sensors and data logging equipment.

The full calendar of race events for the Delphi sponsored Pescarolo Sport team is as follows:

-          13^th-15^th April: 1000Km of Monza (Italy), Le Mans Series

-          4^th-6^th May: 1000Km of Valencia (Spain), Le Mans Series

-          3^rd June: Le Mans 24 Hours - Test day (France), Le Mans 24 Hours

-          16^th – 17^th June: Le Mans 24 Hours (France), Le Mans 24 Hours

-          29^th June – 1^st July: 1000Km of Nurburgring (Germany), Le Mans Series

-          17^th – 19^th August: 1000Km of Spa (Belgium), Le Mans Series

-          14^th – 16^th September: 1000Km of Silverstone (UK), Le Mans Series

-          9^th – 11^th November: 1000Km of Interlagos (Brazil), Le Mans Series
