'We are delighted to welcome Hankook back to the championship for a third season,' said Melissa Wright of Volkswagen Racing UK, 'for not only is Hankook the very best sort of sponsor - enthusiastic and committed - but also because the company's products are a big hit with the competitors.'

Mike Patterson, Hankook's motorsport manager, added: 'We are delighted to be supporting the Volkswagen Racing Cup once again. It is a superb championship and a great showcase for our tyres.'

Hankook is one of the fastest growing tyre manufacturers in the world. Indeed it now ranks as the seventh largest tyre manufacturer and supplies original equipment tyres to many European manufacturers.

The firm's involvement with motorsport in all its forms is global too, ranging from British club motorsport and rallying to Formula 3 in Germany and sports cars in China, Japan and worldwide.

Other supporters of the Volkswagen Racing Cup in association with Hankook are Augustus Martin, Castrol, ECM Vehicle Delivery, Milltek Sport, Mondial Assistance, KW Automotive, Superchips, TNT Logistics, Turbo Dynamics, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and Volkswagen Financial Services UK.

The first of the championship's seven double-header meetings takes place at Oulton Park on Easter Monday (24 March) alongside the British F3 and British GT Championships.
